Lost Humanity
We came from different mothers,
Yet we possess the smallest of connection,
Though as thin as an eyelash it may seem,
But we still dream the commonest of dreams.
We have many a different colour,
But inside we have the same as every other,
So don’t come into any confusion,
For none can judge a man by his pigmentation.
Today the value of a soul,
Can easily be bought or sold,
Like many a lamb they are slaughtered,
Fools they are to set a price,
And willingly are placed below the butcher's knife.
Terrorism is common in our time,
A gun shot occurs before the end of a rhyme,
All in the name of religion,
We pity all the teachers you had,
For they did not teach you the real meaning of jihad.
So lets put our differences aside,
And try to make that connection strong,
To put a stop to all the pain,
For if we do not try,
Our virtues will be considered a lie.
Some may call me a hypocrite,
Some may point out that I'm right,
But I have not written this to start a fight,
All I wish is for you to see,
That how we have lost our humanity.
